Replacement of Three Aging Water Source Heat Pumps

Service Unlimited, Inc. upgraded the HVAC systems serving Sandy Cove Ministries’ banquet hall, replacing three aging water source heat pumps with three new 10-ton Carrier split systems. With a combined 30 tons of cooling capacity, the new equipment supports a comfortable environment for guests gathering for meals, events, and fellowship.

Access was a major part of the project. The existing equipment was located within the attic, where tight clearances and roof framing made removal and replacement a carefully planned operation. Roof openings allowed the team to crane out the old units and lower the new air handlers into position, requiring close coordination between the crane operator, rooftop crew, and installers working inside.

The installation paired the attic-mounted air handlers with new outdoor units positioned on raised rooftop supports. Connecting the new systems to the banquet hall’s ductwork and routing refrigerant piping between the indoor and outdoor equipment required careful attention to the building’s existing layout. Coordinating equipment placement with the roof work was essential to bringing the installation together.
