CAMUS Boiler Installation: Over 4,000,000 BTU per Hour

Wilmington Public Library – Installation of a new heat plant which consisted of (2) Camus Boilers delivering a total of 4,000,000 BTU. A lot of time and coordination to make this project happen. Narrative:

Service Unlimited, Inc. completed a new heating plant installation at the Wilmington Public Library, featuring two CAMUS boilers with a combined capacity of 4,000,000 BTU per hour. The project brought together extensive planning, skilled installation, and close coordination to fit a substantial mechanical upgrade into the building’s existing space.

One of the project’s biggest challenges was access. Moving the boilers into the below-grade mechanical room required carefully coordinated rigging through a sidewalk access opening, followed by precise maneuvering into position. Inside, the transformation included new concrete equipment pads, pumps, insulated heating-water piping, and associated electrical work. New boiler venting extended to the roof, adding another layer of coordination between the mechanical room and the building exterior.

Each stage depended on thoughtful sequencing and attention to detail. Equipment placement, piping routes, and supporting infrastructure all had to come together within the constraints of the existing building. The completed installation reflects the craftsmanship behind the work—from the organized piping layout to the finished equipment connections.
